About Erica
I’m Erica. And I believe we all matter.
I’m a Chinese-American woman, a mom, a coach, a speaker, and a community builder. All of those things are true at once. None of them cancel the others out.
My Story
Here’s what I know to be true.
Most of us are living on someone else’s terms.
Not because we’re weak or careless. Because we inherited stories we never chose. About who we’re supposed to be. What success is supposed to look like. Who gets to matter. Those stories run quietly in the background, and most of us don’t even know they’re there — until something happens that makes the quiet unbearable.
For me, it was years of professional success that felt hollow. Of being the most prepared person in every room and still not feeling like enough. Of realizing, slowly and then all at once, that I’d spent a long time becoming someone I didn’t fully recognize.
That’s when I started asking the real questions. Not “how do I get ahead” but “what do I actually want?” Not “how do I fit in” but “where do I belong?” Not “what should I do next” but “who am I, underneath all of this?”
Those questions became the PIE Framework — Purpose, Identity, and Empathy. Not because I figured it out, but because I had to find a way to keep asking. And I wanted to help other people ask it too.
The moment you stop running on default is the moment your actual life can begin. You’re not behind. You’re just getting started.
What I Do (And Why)
Three ways I help people find their way home to themselves.
🎤
Speaking
I keynote for organizations and events on purpose, identity, and belonging. My signature talk, “Pivot & Shimmy,” helps audiences see that change isn’t something that happens to you — it’s something you learn to move with.
🦄
Unicorn Dynasty
I built the community I needed but couldn’t find. A space where people from all walks of life show up exactly as they are, figure out who they are, and find each other in the process.
🧭
Coaching
I work one-on-one with people who are done going through the motions. If you’re ready to stop living on autopilot and start living on purpose, this is where we start.
My Framework
Purpose, Identity, and Empathy
The PIE Framework is how I see the world. Purpose is knowing what you’re here to do. Identity is knowing who you are — and choosing yourself. Empathy is the understanding that none of this happens alone — that seeing and being seen is what makes belonging possible.
They’re not steps. They’re not a checklist. They’re a way of orienting toward a life that actually fits.
