Rad was the admin assistant to the CEO and primary member at our largest company in the space.
The company joined WeWork in November of 2016, right in time for our WeWork holiday party. I had invited Rad to go and was disappointed that she didn’t show up that night.
The next day, she comes to the front desk and told me that she was already dolled up, Uber on the way, and at the last second, cancelled it and stayed home because she was afraid that she wouldn’t know anyone at the event.
That broke my heart.
As someone who has been bullied before and definitely understood how it felt to be an outsider, I wanted to make sure she never made that decision again.
It was my mission to introduce her to other members as well as adding that as my rotational goal each day at the front desk.
I found out that she just finished her yoga teaching certification and needed “instruction hours”. I thought to myself, let’s kill two birds with one stone and ask her to teach free classes for our members.
She was ECSTATIC and we planned for this each month, mostly on the rooftop but indoors if it rained.
She ended up gaining more corporate clients and when she decided to spread her wings to apply to another company, I was one of her glowing references. During my call, I suggested that they should allow her to provide her yoga sessions to their employees.
They agreed and hired her the next day. HERE is her site.
Last October, she invited me to her wedding and my table was a bunch of WeWorkers I introduced her to during events.
She now has a baby girl due 3 weeks away from me.
